One interesting strategy that many coaches have in promoting their online coaching and consulting business is to hook-up with already successful people. This is recommended by the coaches who coach coaches. Sure, there is such a thing, after all, the coaches who become coaches need a mentor to teach them how to become a coach in the first place right?
Okay so this is the strategy. They call up a successful person, who is absolutely dumbfounded that someone with absolutely “no experience” in their field would try to get them as a client. So they say to the coach calling them, “why do I need a coach?” The “would be” and new coach tells them that; “everyone needs a coach!” Which indeed, is a great come back line.
When the well-established individual says; “no” the coach then asks for an interview, which they will display on their website, to promote themselves to other successful clients. Remember successful clients make them look good, and they have the money to pay for services. Plus, the self-proclaimed coach can now look like they hob-knob with all the successful people, and even infer that they had something to do with their success, even though they didn’t.
All this happens as the “New Coach” has never succeeded at anything in their lives, they are not successful themselves in life, business, relationships, online, or anywhere else for that matter. If you stop and consider all this, it’s obvious that these new online marketers claiming to be coaches have a heck of a lot of nerve. So, beware of them, don’t hire anyone without a 20-year track record of success to be your coach, or you are liable to end up just like them someday.
