For the musician in the family, decoupage sheet music onto a recycled frame using ordinary white craft glue that has been thinned. Glue buttons over the entire surface of another frame for the budding fashion maven. Teenagers will love creating a picture frame covered in candy wrappers, after all, collecting them is half the fun.
Altered childrens board books are a great family fun craft. Create a personal memory book with paints and papers. Add special mementos to make a unique gift. Use a craft knife to cut out a picture frame page, after decorating the book add a photo and cover the back with decorative paper. Add creative touches to each page with stamps, markers and anything flat that can be an embellishment.
If you are planning a family fun craft night and the ages and interests of all involved are quite varied, consider a color theme. Pick a color. Gather beads, buttons, paper, fabric, paint, feathers, yarn, chenille stems and whatever else you can think of in the chosen theme color. Add items to decorate, basic glues and tools needed to create your crafts. Let everybody decide on their own creation. Enhance the fun festive mood with snacks and drinks to match your craft color.
