First of all, take a look at the pattern on the outside fabric of the purse. Most of the Coach brand has the logo C. The C logo should start at the center of the bag and move outward. The middle seam should go straight through the center of the C. Make sure you also take a look at the side seams if it is fake Coach handbag, the C pattern will be cut off. Also, on authentic Coach purses, the tip of each C should touch the tip of an opposite C.
Secondly, another sign that a Coach purse is not real is that the logo is incorrect. Some manufacturers change the logo to GG instead of CC. This is a huge flag to indicate that the bag is a knock off. Also, pay real close attention the fabric that the purse is made out of and the stitching of the bag, this can tell you a lot about the quality and authenticity of a bag. Coach does not manufacture authentic Coach purses with poor stitching. When the stitching is not lined up correctly or overlapping, this is an example of very poor stitching, and you can bet that it is not authentic.
Third, take a look at the inner lining and make sure it has the signature logo of Coach. If it does, make sure the CC are touching as the outside. Once again, check the stitching just like you did on the outside and look for a serial number inside the bag. You will find the serial number stamped on the inside on a small square patch of leather that is sewed into the lining. However, in the small Coach purses (the clutch, swingback, or mini), they do not have contain serial numbers. The company does not put any there.
Fourth, you should inspect the hardware. Coach only uses the best hardware when manufacturing their purses. Most importantly, the zipper. Coach only uses the highest quality of zippers. Coach zippers are stamped with their mark of YKK. If you don’t see the YKK, you will know you have a fake Coach purse.
Finally, look at the tag and see where the purse was made. Coach does have purses made in China. But they DO NOT have any made in Korea. If you get a bag that says make in Korea, take it back or return it because it is not an authentic Coach purse.
